AEDEC's rear screen for the Tahoe combines functional excellence with design beauty. The precision laser cut steel screen fits like a glove in the Tahoe and while the sturdy virtually indestructible polyethylene AEDEC seat was transferable from vehicle to vehicle, it is now possible to transfer the screen as well.
AEDEC seats provide easy cleanup of blood-borne pathogens, makes it virtually impossible for the prisoner to hide contraband in the seats, and provides protection of the prisoners’ wrist against damage to the radial nerve. The AEDEC seat and screen greatly increases leg room in the vehicle. For installation purposes, the front seats can be move to their rearward most position, the front screen added still giving ample leg and foot room for the prisoner to be placed into the vehicle. Safety for the officer and for that prisoner has always been a priority with the progressive thinking of AEDEC. The seat in its original patents was developed to combat the phenomena of positional asphyxia. Those considerations have been retained in subsequent redesigns. The design has also taken into consideration the side air bag not interfering with its deployment should a crash occur.
The simplicity and attractiveness of the screen’s design combined with the virtually indestructible reusable AEDEC seat will give the department the most intelligent and cost effective prisoner transport seating.
